Overview
Bounce web is a small company with little to offer. While they have good cheap prices this is all they have. A smart web host shopper would look elsewhere for their hosting needs.
History
Bounceweb began in 1999 as a free web host. Bounce web decided to turn into a full web host soon after. Their site says they did this so they could afford to offer more services, but my free host has more services than these people. Their site also mentions they wanted to keep prices low. This is the only area in which bounceweb has succeeded.
Hosting
Bounceweb offers four plans of shared hosting. Unfortunately this is all they offer. Bounceweb does not offer VPS hosting or dedicated server hosting, although their site promises dedicated server hosting is coming soon.
The plans range in price from the Featured Plan at only $25.00 a year to the Premium Plan at $19.95 a month. For only $25.00 a year or $2.08 cents a month the Featured Plan offers 250 megabytes of space, 1 gigabyte of data transfer every month, five pop email addresses, and a web control panel. This price is unheard of in the web hosting industry. This is a great deal. On the other end of the price range the Premium plan for only $19.95 a month offers 3000 megabytes of disk space, 100 gigabytes of monthly transfer, 1500 pop email addresses, and CGI/PHP and MySQL. This also is a great offer, however it would be nice to se some extra features added to these plans since shared hosting is all Bounceweb offers.
Support
Bounceweb offers a money back guarantee and an online trouble ticket can be sent incase of a problem. They also offer 24 hour support, and a 99.99% up time guarantee. Also there is live chat assistance online. While all of this sounds great it is important to note that as recently as April of this year the company had a problem while upgrading their servers and lost users sites. On a side note their live chat technicians are really funny, if you have an hour to spend waiting for one of them to respond to your chat request that is.
Services
There are really no extra services to speak of with this company except for included power tools. These tools can include forums, chat, and shopping carts. I am told by a particularly funny technician that these services only need to be clicked on to be activated.
Bouncewebs prices are right but their service is all wrong. I’d try to avoid this company when searching for a web host unless money is just extremely tight. Then I suppose their feature plan would be ok until more money is available, but don’t be shocked when you go to your URL and find no site there. The company has a history of technical problems, and I don’t see the end of these problems happening anytime soon
